Droplets

Droplets are free extensions built into Droppy, each about the size of an app you would otherwise buy on its own. They are all included in the license, and they only run when you switch them on.

Open Settings, Store to browse the catalogue, read what each one does, and install it. Installing is instant for most: nothing is downloaded and nothing is compiled. A handful need a one-time runtime or a third-party app, and each says so on its own page.

A Droplet that is off costs nothing. Turn one off and its widget leaves the shelf, its shortcuts stop answering, and any permission it asked for stops being used. Nothing you made with it is deleted.

Where they show up

Every Droplet page lists its surfaces as a row of chips. This is what each one means.

Shelf widgetIt has a widget you can put on the shelf, alone or beside another one.
Live ActivityIt takes the notch or island while something is happening.
Lock screenIt puts a chip in the lock screen's status row, or a card above the login area.
Global shortcutYou can record a global shortcut for it on the Shortcuts page.
Ring actionIts actions can sit on the Ring.
Quick Action tileIt can be one of the tiles you drop a file onto.
Menu barIt has an entry in Droppy's menu bar menu.
File actionIt works with files on the Shelf and the Basket, either putting them there or acting on the ones you drop.
FinderIt adds a right-click action in Finder.
Media widgetIt drives the media widget and the Now Playing controls.
Droppy for iPhoneIt has a counterpart in Droppy for iPhone.

A Droplet with options also gets its own page in Settings once installed, reachable from its card in the Store and from Settings search.
