Droplet developer terms
Version 2026-09-17
The rules you accept when you submit a Droplet to Droppy's Store.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms are for anyone who submits a Droplet built with DroppyKit to Droppy's Store, or shares a Droplet with others.
By submitting a Droplet, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not submit.
2. You are responsible for your Droplet
You are responsible for your Droplet: its code, its behaviour, its bugs, its energy use, the permissions it uses, how it treats people's data, and any loss or harm it causes.
Jordy Spruit, the developer of Droppy, is not responsible for your Droplet.
3. What you promise
- You own, or are licensed to use, all code, icons, avatars and names in it.
- It contains no malware, and it collects or sends no data without clear disclosure inside the Droplet.
- It does not circumvent Droppy's licensing and does not impersonate Droppy.
- It declares every permission it uses in droplet.json.
- The repository you submit is public, and the commit you submit is the one you want reviewed.
4. Review, signing and publication
Review is human and best-effort. A Droppy signature means those bytes came through review, not that Droppy vouches for the code.
Droppy may decline a submission, ask for changes, retire a published Droplet, or remove one from the Store at any time and for any reason.
Publication does not transfer ownership of your Droplet to Droppy. Your code stays yours.
5. Users
Droppy tells users that Droplets from other makers can be unreliable before they install one.
Support for your Droplet is yours, through the source link you give.
6. No warranty and limitation of liability
DroppyKit, the Store, the Playground and review are provided as is, without warranties of any kind.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Droppy and Jordy Spruit are not liable for anything arising from your Droplet.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jordy Spruit and Droppy against third-party claims, costs and damages arising from your Droplet or your breach of these terms.
7. Changes to these terms
The version of these terms is the date at the top. A new submission after a change accepts the new version.
