Control playback from your notch

Control Spotify playback from the notch with transport controls and track context while you work. It reduces app switching when you just need quick media actions.

How to use it

  1. Connect your account once. Droppy opens Spotify in your browser so you can approve it, and nothing else is stored.
  2. Playback, artwork and track context then appear in the notch, in the media widget and on the lock screen.
  3. Pick which control sits on the left and the right of the widget, so the two buttons you actually use are the two you get.

Workflows

Skip without leaving the app

Two-finger swipe on the notch to reach the media controls, skip, and swipe back to the shelf. The window you were in never loses focus.

Tips

  • You can supply your own Spotify Client ID if you would rather the connection went through an app you own.
  • The Lyrics Droplet adds timed lyrics beside the same widget.
  • The same left and right button choice drives the lock screen media HUD.
