Per-app volume sliders

Gives every app on your Mac its own volume slider in the notch. Lower the music while a video stays loud, silence system sounds without touching your music app, and each app remembers its level. Built on macOS audio taps, so nothing leaves your machine.

How to use it

  1. Turn it on and grant System Audio Recording once. Every app currently playing gets its own slider.
  2. Set levels per app. With Remember volumes on, each app comes back at the level you left it.
  3. Turn on Show paused apps to keep a row for an app you quieted after it stops playing, and Include system sounds for alerts and notification dings.

Music under a video call

Drop the music to a third and leave the call where it is, without touching either app.

Silence the dings, keep the music

System sounds get their own row, so notification noise can go to zero on its own.

Tips

  • The Natural curve makes the middle of the slider sound half as loud, which is how people expect a volume control to behave. Linear maps position straight to gain.
  • If capture fails, play some audio and retry: the mixer needs a stream before it can attach.
  • It needs macOS 14.2 or newer, and it runs entirely on your Mac through macOS audio taps.
