Adds rich, low-latency mechanical keyboard sound effects to every keystroke. Browse community soundpacks, set per-output-device volume, and choose pitch variation for a more natural typing feel.

What it does

How to use it

  1. Install a soundpack from its page and pick it. Nothing plays until a pack is chosen.
  2. Grant Accessibility and Input Monitoring so it can hear keys typed in other apps. Previews still play without them.
  3. Set the volume per output device, so headphones and speakers are not the same loudness.

Workflows

A laptop keyboard that sounds like a board you like

Pick a pack, set the volume, and turn on auto-enable on headphones so it is there when you plug in and silent when you do not.

Tips

  • Auto-mute on music gets out of the way when Music, Spotify or VLC starts playing.
  • Turn off modifier sounds so Shift, Control, Option, Command and Fn stay silent and only real characters click.
  • Ignore rapid key events drops events less than 10 ms apart, which fixes the double-click sound on a chattering key.
  • Mouse clicks can play too, for the left, right and middle buttons.

Each pack is shipped under its own license (MIT for everything currently bundled). Authors are credited inline on every soundpack row.
