About
About Droppy
One app for everything the top of your Mac was missing, made by an independent developer and the people who use it.
What Droppy is
Droppy turns the notch of your Mac into a Dynamic Island. Drag a file to the top of the screen and a file tray holds it until you need it. Everything you copy waits in a clipboard history one shortcut away. Music, calls, meetings, downloads, timers and your coding agents appear as live activities beside the notch, and the floating player keeps your music anywhere on the desktop. On a Mac without a notch, the same island lives at the top of the screen.
Around that core sit the droplets: extensions you switch on one by one, from a Pomodoro timer and an Action Ring to the Thunderstorm launcher and Window Switcher. Every droplet is included, and so is every one that comes next. Droppy runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, is translated into fifteen languages, and has a free companion app for iPhone.
Who makes it
Droppy is built by Jordy Spruit, an independent developer, together with the people who use it. Bugs and ideas go on The Trench, Droppy's public feedback board, where anyone can vote and follow a request until it ships. Day-to-day conversation happens on Discord, and every release and what changed in it is on the changelog.
How it is paid for
Droppy is a one-time purchase of $9.99, shown in your own currency at checkout, with lower prices in 126 countries. One license covers two Macs and every future update. There is no subscription. You can try every feature free for three days without entering payment details, and if it is not for you, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days. The details are on the refund policy and in the licensing guide.
Open to developers
Anyone can build a droplet with DroppyKit, the SDK behind every droplet, in Swift and SwiftUI. The Droplet Store is a public repository on GitLab: a droplet arrives as a merge request, and merging is publishing. Droppy Playground, a free separate app, lets you try a droplet on the real notch and island before you publish it.
For AI agents
Droppy works with AI apps through the Model Context Protocol. On your Mac, the MCP droplet lets Claude, Cursor or Codex use Droppy within the permissions you set; see MCP for AI apps. On the web, this site publishes llms.txt, a Markdown version of every page, a read-only public API and a documentation MCP server, so assistants can answer questions about Droppy from the source.
