Quick access terminal in your notch

Run quick shell commands from the notch with session tabs, working-directory awareness, and Tab completion for commands and paths. When you need a full terminal app, you can hand the current workflow off to Terminal, iTerm, Warp, Ghostty, WezTerm, kitty, or Alacritty.

How to use it

  1. Record a shortcut. It opens in quick-command mode: type, run, read the result in a compact HUD.
  2. Expand it for a full terminal with session tabs, working-directory awareness and Tab completion for both commands and paths.
  3. When a job outgrows the notch, hand the session off to Terminal, iTerm, Warp, Ghostty, WezTerm, kitty or Alacritty. Pick which one in its settings.

The lock screen chip shows how many Terminal sessions are still running.

Workflows

The one-line check

git status, npm run lint, df -h. The answer appears in the notch and the HUD lingers for as long as you set, then gets out of the way.

Start here, finish there

Kick off a long command in the notch, then hand the session to your real terminal when you want the full window.

Tips

  • Set the command timeout so a hanging command stops instead of holding the notch forever.
  • The lock screen chip shows how many sessions are still running, which is the quickest way to know a build survived the lock.
