The notch or island does not appear

Check three switches, in this order. Under Settings, Accessibility, make sure Hold to reveal is off, or hold the modifier combination it is set to. Under Settings, Live Activities, check Per-display visibility and Hide on external displays. Then confirm Accessibility permission is granted under Settings, Permissions, since without it Droppy cannot place its overlay.

A shortcut does nothing

Global shortcuts need Accessibility permission. If that is granted, the combination is probably claimed by something else: open Settings, Shortcuts and re-record it, and Droppy names the conflict. Clipboard item shortcuts are a special case: they only work while the clipboard window is open and focused.

The visualizer does not move, or per-app volume is missing

Both read audio levels, so macOS asks for System Audio Recording once. Grant it from the row under Settings, Permissions. Droppy only reads levels in the moment and never records.

Dragging a file moved it instead of copying it

That is macOS behavior: a drag to the same disk moves, a drag to another disk copies. Turn on Protect originals under Settings, General, File actions and Droppy always copies instead.

The menu bar icon is gone

If you hid it, right-click the notch silhouette where it used to sit to bring it back. If it is only hidden behind other menu bar items, the Thaw Droplet manages menu bar crowding and can keep Droppy visible.

My iPhone will not pair, or nothing is syncing

A pairing code works once and then expires, so generate a fresh one from Settings, General, Droppy Sync if you scanned an old screenshot. Syncing needs an active license on the Mac. If Droppy says the library is unavailable, check that a Sync Library exists on this Mac, and remember that a reset library requires every device to pair again.

A Droplet asks for a runtime or an app I do not have

A few Droplets depend on something external: AI Background Removal and Voice Transcribe install a runtime and a model once, Video Target Size installs FFmpeg, PDF Compress installs Ghostscript, and Alfred, Kaset and LocalSend need their own app. Each Droplet's page says exactly what it needs before you install it, and the install is one button.

Droppy will not open, or says it is in the wrong place

Move Droppy to your Applications folder and launch it from there. Running it from the disk image or from Downloads breaks updating and some permissions, and Droppy tells you so rather than misbehave quietly.
