Live Activities
The status side of Droppy. Instead of pop-ups scattered across the screen, everything reports from the notch or the island, and more than one thing can report at once.
Every activity below has its own switch under Settings, Live Activities, so you can keep the four you care about and turn the rest off.
System
- Volume, brightness and keyboard brightness replace the macOS pop-ups. Each can be switched independently, and an optional soft tick plays on key presses.
- Battery and charging, with low-battery alerts and one-tap Low Power Mode.
- AirPods and headphones connecting, with their battery level.
- Caps Lock on and off, and Focus mode changes.
- External drives connecting, with a safe eject button.
- Network: joining a network, hotspot battery, live VPN status with a session timer, and an optional offline warning.
- Recording and privacy indicators: screen recording controls with a video preview, and the microphone and screen indicators.
- Droppy updates when a new version is available.
Media
The media widget shows artwork, title, artist and a scrubber, with the full player and your Playing Next queue one swipe away. It also carries the native AirPlay and audio output picker.
- Live audio visualizer bounces the bars to what is actually playing. macOS asks once for System Audio Recording; Droppy reads levels in the moment and never records.
- Live album artwork plays Apple Music and Spotify animated covers when the song has one, and pauses with playback to stay light on CPU.
- Notch track title briefly shows track info under the physical notch on song change.
- Track swipe changes songs with a swipe, in the direction you prefer.
- Hide Incognito media keeps anything playing in a private browsing window out of the notch.
- Default music app decides which player the controls target when more than one could answer.
From Droplets
Droplets report here too, once switched on: Pomodoro's focus and break timers, High Alert, Meetings with a call timer and live audio, Notifications, Agents showing Claude, Codex and Cursor status, Termi-Notch, the Calendar event progress ring, and the file tray's own drop confirmation.
More than one at a time
Droppy gives the primary activity the main seat and pills the others beside it, so a timer keeps ticking while a track changes and a download finishes.
