Alfred Workflow

Keyboard-first file management

Use the Droppy Alfred workflow to push files into Shelf or Basket from your keyboard. It keeps quick file actions in Alfred so you can send items without switching context.

What it does

  • Customizable keyboard shortcuts
  • Instant file transfer
  • Works with files and folders
  • Opens workflow in Alfred

How to use it

  1. Install the workflow from this Droplet's page. Droppy hands the file to Alfred, which imports it.
  2. Select files in Finder, press Space, then choose File Actions.
  3. Pick Add to Shelf or Add to Basket. The files land on the notch shelf or in the floating basket without a single drag.

Where it shows up

Gather without the mouse

Alfred is already open on your keyboard, so a set of files scattered across folders can be sent to the Basket one File Action at a time, then dropped somewhere as a single pile.

Tips

  • Alfred lets you bind the File Action to its own hotkey, which turns this into one key press for a Finder selection.
  • It needs Alfred 4 or newer with the Powerpack, since File Actions are a Powerpack feature.

File Actions need Alfred 4 or newer with the Powerpack.
