Two things you asked for in The Trench shape this beta: lyrics you can keep on Home, and a Droppy that stays light after you visit Settings. The rest is fixes, led by the freezes and crashes your crash reports caught.
- 37bugs fixed since beta 4
- 150 MBa Settings visit used to leave behind
- 4tiles at the top of Settings
Lyrics, right on Home
Customise Home has a Lyrics widget now. Put it on the left or the right of Media and the current line follows the song as it plays. When a song has no lyrics, the widget steps aside and Media takes the room back.

Settings, now its own app
Opening Settings used to grow Droppy by about 200 MB, and roughly 150 MB of that stayed until you quit it. Settings now runs as a separate process that quits when you close its window, so that memory goes with it.
The sidebar starts with four tiles for General, Theming, Command Center and the Droplet Store. They lift under the pointer, dim when you press them, and the Store tile shows how many droplet updates are waiting.

Freezes and fixes you reported
When a Mac ran very low on memory, Droppy could freeze the whole machine. Its own hang check paused it to take a sample, and WhatsApp or Telegram notifications kept relaunching their web view. Neither happens under memory pressure any more.
Your crash reports pointed at a few freezes inside Droppy. Opening the lid of a MacBook that slept for a while, starting a new or updated droplet and opening a pop-up menu in Settings each held Droppy up for seconds, and none of them blocks it now. A floating panel that could take Droppy down by resizing itself mid-layout is fixed too.
If Droppy ever greeted you as unlicensed right after launch, with your license still on the Mac, that is fixed. A key that cannot be read for a moment no longer clears the license you see.
Window Snap's pointer-first mode was grabbing Option-drag, which Figma, Illustrator and other apps need. Move and Resize now start on Control-Command and Control-Option, and you can change them in Window Snap's settings.
Twenty-eight smaller fixes
Thunderstorm keeps every letter you type right after it opens, lyrics stay in time with Spotify instead of slipping a second behind, and the notch hides in fullscreen Split View when you asked it to. Panels no longer open with a focus ring on their first button, and clipboard history and the license check no longer write gigabytes to disk a day.
For droplets and new Macs
Droplets can now show Droppy's own floating player, the real one with its controls and artwork, instead of drawing a copy of it.
On macOS 26, the welcome tour now opens with a handwritten hello in Liquid Glass. You will only see it on a new install, or if you replay the tour.
Small things you might like
The notch skips hover checks and hidden work while it springs open, so it has less to do on every frame. The Store's search is a round button that grows into a field and folds back, and Quit protection is now called Hold to quit.
