Droppy 16.1.2 beta 3: instant menus, true-colour recordings

Beta 2 started sending crash and slowdown reports, and the first ones came in overnight. This beta fixes what they found, along with the bugs you posted on The Trench and in Discord since yesterday.

Menus that stay out of your way

Right-clicking the floating player or the Command Center now opens the menu the moment you let go, over whatever app you are in. Droppy no longer jumps to the front, and an open Settings window stays where it was.

Recordings that match your screen

macOS hands every recorded frame over with the wrong colour label, and Droppy used to trust it, so greys came out lighter than on screen. Element Capture now labels each frame correctly and writes it the way the macOS recorder does, so the colours come back exactly. Make a fresh recording to see it; older ones keep their colours.

Fixes you will notice

Snippets expand in Ghostty, iTerm2, Warp and other terminals again. Droppy used to check the text behind your cursor first, and terminals do not report it.

Two problems the new crash reports caught are gone: a crash when Spotify's animated artwork loaded right at launch, and a background loop that kept one CPU core busy while music played with Now Playing turned off.

Better reports, same privacy

Crash and slowdown reports now include where Droppy was stuck and the last few things it did, like opening the notch or switching a Settings page. They still never include your files, clipboard or messages, and they are only sent when you say so.
