Droppy 16.1.2 beta 2: crash reports, DockDoor, steadier glass

This beta is about catching problems faster and fixing the ones you already found. When Droppy crashes or slows down, it can now tell me what happened, but only if you say so. Most of the fixes below came straight from your posts on The Trench.

Crashes that report themselves

After a crash or a long hang, Droppy asks whether to send a report to The Trench. Choose Always send and later ones go on their own. Reports carry the crash signature and a few scrubbed log lines, never your files, clipboard or messages.

Dock previews, now DockDoor

Dock previews, the window switcher and Command-Tab previews now come from DockDoor, a droplet by ejbills in the Droplet Store. If you used the built-in versions, Droppy installs DockDoor for you and moves your shortcut and options across.

Logs in one click

Settings, About, Troubleshooting now has Export logs, which saves one zip of Droppy's logs and recent crash reports. Drop it into Discord or The Trench when something goes wrong.

Fixes you will notice

Droppy no longer crashes when Voice Transcribe starts recording, or when another app opens and closes windows while DockDoor watches them. The Weather widget stops waiting forever for location access and offers an Allow access button instead.

Liquid Glass stays steady while the notch opens and closes, and Dynamic Glass on the floating player is back to its black melt in Light and Dark. Transform makes WebP images without asking for FFmpeg again, and big PDFs of 100 MB and more now compress.

Dozens of smaller fixes cover Settings, Thunderstorm, WhatsApp sounds showing up in the media player, screen recording colours, live activities in the notch and meeting controls.

Lighter when you are not looking

Droppy wakes up far less often while your Mac sits idle, so it uses less CPU and battery. Typing in Thunderstorm feels smoother because unchanged results are no longer redrawn.

Settings opens faster and lets go of its memory when you close it. Island side widgets are now called Island glances, and their add spots are solid so you can always see them.
