Xcode Builds

Build progress and results in your notchUpcoming update

Droppy watches Xcode's local build activity and keeps the status in your notch. Use optional estimated progress learned from successful builds, choose how long results stay visible, and open Xcode from the activity.

What it does

  • Compact and expanded live activity views
  • The real Xcode app icon
  • Elapsed time and build results
  • Optional learned progress estimates
  • Adjustable success and failure display duration
  • Included in Droppy, with no separate droplet download

How to use it

  1. Enable Xcode Builds in Settings, Live Activities.
  2. Start a build in Xcode 27. Droppy follows builds from its standard or global DerivedData location.
  3. Follow elapsed time in the compact activity, expand it for details, and see the result when the build finishes.

Where it shows up

  • Live Activity

The compact activity shows the current build. Expand it for details and see its result when it finishes. It has no shelf widget.

Workflows

Estimate progress

Turn on Estimate progress in the droplet's settings to use timings learned from successful builds. Estimates stop short of completion until Xcode reports the result.

Keep results visible

Choose whether completed builds expand, and adjust the separate success and failure durations. Click the activity to open Xcode.

Tips

  • The droplet is included in Droppy. There is no separate download or shelf widget to add.
  • Command-line, preview and indexing builds are excluded. Cancelled or unknown results are never presented as successful builds.

Requires Xcode 27 with its standard or global DerivedData location. Command-line, preview and indexing builds are excluded.
