# Droppy Cloud

Drop files, get a private link, send it anywhere. The recipient opens it in a browser. No account on either end.

Drop files into the file tray and pick the cloud [Quick Action](https://getdroppy.app/docs/quick-actions), or use the [Droppy Cloud](https://getdroppy.app/docs/droplets/droppy-cloud) Droplet. Droppy uploads them and copies a `getdroppy.app/cloud/<slug>` link to your clipboard. The menu shows up to five recent shares; select one to copy its link, or choose Manage Droppy Cloud to open its Settings page.

## Limits

- **Per file**: 200 MB maximum.
- **Per share**: 1 GB total, and at most 25 files.
- **Per installation**: 1 GB of active shared data at any one time. Delete an active share or wait for one to expire to free room.
- **Per network address**: 3 GB of active shared data.
- **Expiry**: 3 days after upload, automatically. You can delete a share yourself at any time before that, and the files go for good.
- **Storage**: File contents live on Cloudflare R2. The slug, filename, type, size, upload time and expiry time live in our database.

## Not end to end encrypted

Uploads and downloads use HTTPS, and files at rest are encrypted server-side by Cloudflare, but Droppy Cloud is **not** end to end encrypted. If you need confidential transfer, encrypt the files yourself first or use a tool built for that.

[Droppy Sync](https://getdroppy.app/docs/iphone), which carries your library to your iPhone, is a separate path and *is* end to end encrypted.

Full detail, including exactly what is stored per share, is on the [Droppy Cloud page](https://getdroppy.app/cloud).
